  • Q ~ Why should I choose your service?

  • A ~ West Coast Pets, LLC offers you professional, confidential pet care services by Ryan and Abby Berg, only. We are not part of an on-demand pet sitting app. We are consistent and reliable. We are licensed, certified, and insured pet sitters with K-9 First Aid training. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional customer service and compassionate pet care.

  • Q ~ Do I have to leave my key under a rock or doormat for you to provide my services?

  • A ~ No. If you have an alarm system, we will go over your access procedures. If not, we will provide you with one of our lock boxes and create a combination that will be kept confidential. The safety of your home, and your pets, is our foremost concern.

  • Q ~ How will my dog be rewarded or punished?

  • A ~ We believe in using only positive reinforcement when interacting or working with dogs. This means we will reward your dog for good behavior with praise and petting. Sometimes high value treats (ie. small pieces of cheese or chicken) may be used where a more highly rewarding motivation is needed to repeat the good behavior. Bad behavior is redirected to what is acceptable, then rewarded. Some behaviors people label "bad", are just dogs acting like dogs.  They are very smart animals, want to please, and almost always work for food!

  • Q ~ Do you have a flea policy?

  • A ~ Yes, here in the Northwest fleas can quickly become a health hazard for you and your pets. We check each pet at every visit. If fleas are present, we will notify the owner and return when the issue has been resolved. For the health and well-being of all our clients, and our own pets, we require a flea prevention program to be utilized.   

  • Q ~ Do you discriminate against "dangerous" or "aggressive" breeds?

  • A ~ We do not. We do not believe in those terms. Each individual dog will be assessed on its own temperament and social behaviors. For our safety, and the safety of other dogs we handle, we reserve the right to refuse service to any dog who exhibits inappropriate or aggressive behavior, no matter its breed. 

  • Q ~ Why must my dog wear a harness when being walked?

  • A ~ Many breeds have heads that are smaller than their necks. Collars can easily pull over the head, and the dog is on the loose. A harness is less likely to injure a dog that bolts after a squirrel, bird, cat, etc. Your pet's safety and comfort is our main concern.

  • Q ~ Do I have to sign a long term contract for services? 

  • A ~ No. It is beneficial to your pet to have a consistent caregiver they know and trust. It is advised to schedule all services as soon as possible. We only take on as many clients as we can comfortably provide consistent, exceptional service to.

  • Q ~ What forms of payment do you accept?

  • A ~ We accept cash and credit/debit cards. Invoicing is done weekly and due upon receipt. It is possible to pay the invoice online, or we can take your credit/debit card information to enter manually. Your financial information will be kept in our password protected system and will never leave our office.

  • Q ~ How do I schedule services?

  • A ~ Just give us a call, or send an email. We will set up a Meet & Greet with you and your pet/s. This is to ensure that you and your pets, along with Ryan and/or Abby are a good match to provide with our services, at that time we will go over our Forms, Policies, and Agreements and schedule you first visit.
